Ikeya-Zhang came along in the early spring of 2002, and wasn't quite the Hale Bopp or Hyakutake everyone hoped it might be. It never got very high in the sky, and was never particularly bright. It was visible to the unaided eye, but most of those coming to me at work for directions never saw it. The tail was quite straight and no detail was visible in the nucleus.
