Comet 2007/N3 Lulin was discovered, as suggested, in 2007 and became visible in early 2009 (note that the date on the sketch is in error). The sketch was done a few days before it passed by M44. It had been brighter than this but as usual observing was plagued by cloud. The sketch was done through a 6 inch reflector and 'digitised' using using software and graphics tablet.
