Lying close to Lambda Sagittarius, at the top of the 'teapot's' body, M28 is a spectacular globular. If it was as high in the sky from the UK as M13, it would far surpass it. Although slightly smaller and fainter than M13, it seemed, like its near neighbour M22, more easily resolvable into stars. Its form was remniscent of the open cluster M11, the Wild Duck.
