NGC663 is one of several lovely open clusters in Cassiopeia. It is large and bright and probably contains around 80 stars. It lies close to both NGC659 and M103. One does have to wonder why Messier and Mechain listed M103 but not this one, though of course it does have to be remembered that they were not looking for these clusters for their own sake as we do now.
